Richard A. Dorn, 77, of Greenville, formerly of Menasha, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at his home. He was born June 11, 1934 to the late Arnold and Anna (Gabriel) Dorn in Neenah. Richard was a 1953 Menasha High School graduate.
On June 26, 1954, he married Gladyce England. He retired from Marathon/American Can after 35 years of service. He enjoyed going up to the cabin in Mountain, WI, and target shooting and walking in the woods. Richard also enjoyed shooting pool, and especially traveling all over the U.S. with the whole family in the car.
Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladyce; children: Rick (Karen) Dorn, Neenah; Susan (Roy) Nelson, Neenah; Ronald Dorn, Florida; Diane (Joe Omachinski) Dorn, Menasha; Sharon (Mark) Pechotta, Menasha; grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Dorn; Jessica (Chris) Klenke; Nick (fiancee, Michelle) Dorn; Christopher Dorn; Joshua Dorn; Jeremy Pechotta; Ambir Dorn; Laci Dorn; great-grandchildren: Shaylee and Chayce Klenke. He is further survived by his brothers: Donald (Evelyn) Dorn, Omro; and Robert Dorn, Neenah; and was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles, and his very good friend, Vernon Palmer.
A funeral service for Richard will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Menasha’s Westgor Funeral Home, with Deacon Maurice Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. Friday until the hour of service at the funeral home. A family burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday.
A special thanks to our wonderful next door neighbors, Timm and Kelly Gloudemans and their children, who always made sure the driveway was cleared and always made themselves available.
