Gerald Joseph Kolasinski, age 83, of Neenah passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on May 28, 1929 in Menasha, son of the late John and Blanche (Mack) Kolasinski. After graduating from Menasha High School, Jerry took a job with Marathon Corp. and then retired from American Can in 1989. During the Korean Conflict Jerry proudly served our country with the United States Army. On November 13, 1954 he married Lorraine Rehbein in Dubuque, Iowa. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing at the cottage on Tomahawk Lake, and loved Polka music.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Lorraine; his daughter, Linda Kolasinski, Neenah; his son, Jeffrey Kolasinski and his partner, John Thorpe, Staten Island, NY; 2 sisters-in-law: Margaret Kolasinski, Memphis, Arvilla Rehbein, Waupaca; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Al Kolasinski, and a sister and brother-in-law, Annabelle and Russell Erickson
The Funeral Service for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for cancer research.
The family would like to thank Dr.’s Jeffrey Klingbeil, Gregory Swanson, Timothy Goggins and Todd Talbot, for all their wonderful care of Jerry.
