Paul A. Pansy, of Fremont, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 16, 2012. He was born on November 7, 1948, son of the late Elmer and Enid (Haase) Pansy.
After graduating from Neenah High School he attended Michigan State University, but returned to Neenah to help run the family business, Pansy Nursery. Paul received an honorable discharge from the United States Army Reserves. He met his wife, Jennifer “Fritz” Smith in 1988 when she became an employee. They were married on April 1, 1994.
Paul and Fritz founded and operated Oakridge Nursery in Neenah and they ran it for 14 years, retiring in 2010 due to Paul’s health. He loved the outdoors and admired nature. Paul was an avid fisherman, sturgeon spearer and duck hunter. He was a talented landscaper and took great pride in the golf course he designed at his home.
Paul was a kind hearted, good spirited person. He loved his wife and many pets and enjoyed socializing with friends. We will miss him very much.
Survivors include his wife, Fritz; two sisters: Charlotte (Dr. William) Iversen, AZ, Vicky Pansy, Neenah; four nieces: Kelly (William) Streider, FL, Karie Schurer, Neenah, Krisie Schurer, Neenah, Carlie Odau, CO; and a nephew, Jason (Courtney) Odau, TX.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Tarry Schurer.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
