Obituary
Michael G. Brantmeier “Brant” passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home in Neenah. Mike was born October 26, 1946 at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah, Winnebago County, WI. Mike was the son of the late Vernon and Kay Brantmeier. His 50 + year marriage to Joyce Marohn took place at Trinity Lutheran church in Neenah on May 21st 1966.
Mike was employed with Allstate Insurance Company for most of his career. After years of continued success as an agent, he opened his own office in Neenah. He was very successful as an insurance agent achieving Allstate's prestigious Life Millionaire status. Mike worked with thousands of clients and was well-liked by everyone.
Mike served for six years in the Wisconsin National Guard. For almost forty years, Mike, his family, and many friends enjoyed their weekends together at the cottage on Anderson Lake near Mountain, WI. Mike always had projects to keep himself busy. When Mike wasn't up north, he enjoyed spending time reading, working in the yard, and hanging out with his friends down at Wayne's Muffler & Auto Center. Mike and Joyce were proud and active members of the 1965 Neenah High School reunion committee.
He will be sadly missed by his two children: Kelly (husband Stacy) Van Scoyk, De Pere and Michael Brantmeier, Fox Lake; grandchildren: Christian and Kelsey Van Scoyk; and Taylor Brantmeier; his sisters: Maureen Brantmeier and Marge Brantmeier; his sisters-in-law: Jean Spiegelberg, Carol Nagel, Kathleen (Steve) Gaschler, and brothers: James (Patti) Marohn, Paul Marohn, Tom (Kay) Marohn, Mark (Candy) Marohn, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; her parents, Henry and Vivian Marohn; his sister, Mary Brantmeier-Bartman; and brother-in-law, Robert Spiegelberg.
The Christian Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah) with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to further Mike's love of reading.
