DONNA STROBEL
May 28, 1936 - February 08, 2016
Obituary
Donna R. Strobel, of Neenah, age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Valley VNA. She was born May 28, 1936 in Oconto, daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel (Burdick) DeHut. Donna married Clarence “Bud” Strobel on February 28, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2007.
Donna was a kind and gentle person who had a feisty side which was such a surprise due to her also being under 5 feet tall. She was a die-hard Packer fan and she loved spending time with her family all around her, especially her grandchildren. She was enormously loved and she was sure of that too.
Donna also enjoyed fishing, gardening and baking. Most people who knew her were aware of her love of baking desserts and her constant search for a new one to try, which made all who came in contact with her, very happy.
Survivors include her five children: Ruth (Gary) Pommerening-Neenah, Tom Strobel-Neenah, Toni (Bill) Goodall-Black Creek, James (Darci) Strobel- Neenah, Frank (Sarah) Strobel-Black Creek; 15 grandchildren: Cinnamon (Smith) Majewski, Joe and Jeremiah Smith, Elizabeth Pommerening, Andrew, Adam and Austin Strobel, Joey, Jimmy and Jacob Goodall and Jenna (Goodall) Friebel , Angela (Strobel) Farrell, Abigail (Strobel) Poliak, Ben Strobel and Megan (Strobel) Schmitt; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Walkowiak; and a brother, Ron (Marion) Dehut.
Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Becki Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2016, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Huxtable officiating. The visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in her name for the Employee fund for the Valley VNA.
The family would like to thank all of the staff of the Valley VNA and also Affinity Hospice for all their wonderful care of our mother.
