Obituary

Frank Simonis, age 77, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 after a short illness. He was born December 11, 1931 to the late Frank and Isabel Simonis. On August 13, 1955 he married Rosemary LaBranche and started his beautiful family. Frank grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and went on to graduate from Marquette University in 1953. From there he joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. Upon his return to Wisconsin, Frank became a CPA and eventually a partner in DiRenzo, Simonis and Miller; he retired in 1994. Frank was also a long-term active parishioner at St. Patricks Parish and a member of Ridgeway Golf Club since 1971. Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary; children: Laurie (Pat) Kish, Julie (John) Reiser, John (Renee) Simonis, Patti (Greg) DeMuri, Karen (Bill) Hoffmann; grandchildren: Katie and Megan Kish, Ryan and Allie Reiser, Mike and Jack Simonis, Adam, Becca and Ben DeMuri, Alex, Brady and Jason Hoffmann; great-grandchildren: Jayden and Logan. He is further survived by his sisters: Kathleen (Ted) Menge and Madalyn Rasmussen; and in-laws Clet Ceszewski, Mary Lou Simonis, John (Phyllis) LaBranche, and Jean (Roger) Lange; as well as many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Isabel; brothers: Glen and Bill; sister Denise; and in-laws Fred and Marian LaBranche and Larry Rasmussen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 11:00 AM, at St. Patricks Parish of Menasha, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Family and friends may call on Friday at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the ALS Foundation, St. Patricks Parish and the Fox Valley Warming Shelter, Inc. would be appreciated.

Rosemary and Family~ Am so sorry to hear about Frank. I only knew him for a short time, and I really enjoyed getting to know him. He could put a smile on my face. Anyone that knew Frank was very lucky.
