Obituary
Carol Ann Johnson, passed away 23 June 2024 after a 13 month battle with cancer. Born 4 January 1949 in Neenah WI to Lucile (Jacobson) and Kenneth Johnson, Carol was raised in Winneconne, WI where she learned to love her family, friends, sports, and animals. She went on to a career in the U.S. Navy where she saw the world, and she touched so many people with her wit and caring ways. Carol spent her retirement years in nature and in service to others. Everyone wanted to be around Carol because they felt welcomed and loved. She didn't stop serving others and helping people even as she was dealing with her own illness and pain.
Carol married the love of her life, Kelli J. Carroll of Appleton WI, on 14 March 2020 at the WI Veterans Museum in Madison WI. Together Carol and Kelli served in their American Legion post bringing to the front all the enormous contributions of women veterans from this area. While Carol was the little sister in her own house she was the adopted “big sister” to neighbors, cousins, and friends. One of Carol's favorite things was getting together with the “cousins.”
Carol is survived by her wife Kelli, their fur baby, “Just” Jack, and her loving brother, Dale (Alma) Johnson. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lucile (Jacobson) and Kenneth Johnson, her special fur baby, Saylor, grandparents Bill and Jennie Jacobson and Chris and Minnie Johnson, and uncles Earl (Marilyn) Jacobson and Robert (Isabel) Jacobson.
