CAROLE JOHNSON

Carole Ruth Johnson peacefully left the loving embrace of her family on July 13, 2023. Carole was born on October 6, 1931, to John and Laura (Nelson) Van Beek in Chicago, IL. She married Al Johnson on September 9, 1951. Carole was a former resident of Morton Grove, IL and Fort Myers, FL. Golfing, playing bridge, knitting and spending time at their summer home were some of Carole's favorite pastimes. 

Carole treasured her family, especially her husband Al of 66 years. They worked as a team, raising children, owning a Commercial Laundry and Dry Cleaning business and took many wonderful trips together. Carole was independent with qualities that made her unique which made others smile. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who instilled the importance of family, love and building traditions. She leaves a legacy of stories, memories and life lessons for her family and generations to come. It was her time “to go home” and be reunited with her husband, Al and spend eternity in God's welcoming embrace. She finished her final chapter in life, well - lived, rich in years and with many blessings surrounding her.

She will be missed by her daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Buchta and their children: Peter (Katy) Buchta, Kristen (Brian) Musser and John (Marissa) Buchta; Son, Craig (Mary) Johnson and their children: Heather (Stephen) Fryman, and Christopher (Kim) Johnson. She was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Joey, Ella, Caleb, Emma, Reagan, Haddie, Olivia, Griffin, Brady and Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Al, and sister, Lauraine.

A family memorial will be planned for later this summer. Those wishing to make a contribution in Carole's memory may send it to the Valley VNA Senior Care, 1535 Lyon Dr. Neenah, WI 54956 where she lovingly resided for 5 years. “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.”
