Obituary

Dorothy Helen Larson, 98, of De Pere, WI passed away on October 18, 2024. Born June 5, 1926, to Charlie and Emma (Bloedorn) Grunske. After moving to Neenah in 1939, she remained In Neenah marrying James Anderson (1947) and later Ronald Larson (1958). In 1991 she moved to De Pere for her remaining years.

Her hobbies included embroidery, knitting, reading, arts and crafts, writing, journaling, word search, crosswords, genealogy, stamp collecting, and most proudly her collection of 15,000 postcards as well as her perfect handwriting. In addition. Her generosity extended into much volunteer work as she was a Pink Lady at Theda Clark Hospital, office assistant at First United Methodist, cut quilt squares for Helping Hands at St. John Lutheran Church in Ashwaubenon where the quilts were then distributed to the homeless. She also knitted countless caps, mittens, and dishcloths for family and friends.

 She is survived by her six children: Florence Parfitt, Robert Anderson (wife Nancy), Kenneth Anderson (wife Mary), Ila Lardinois, Elizabeth Garcia (husband Robert), and Keith Larson. Dorothy is further survived by her 9 grandchilden: James Parfitt (Cindy), Matthew Anderson (Jessica), Amanda Anderson, Christy Rosenthall (Kevin), Melanie Gerndt (Grayson), Michele Hoffman (Phil), Paul Hadler (Liza), Jenifer Gwinn, Samantha Spellman (David), as well as numerous great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one great- great- great grandson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Emma Grunske, her brothers Alvin and Marvin Grunske, her sister-in-law Bernice Grunske, one grandson James Gwinn, and son-in-law Gary Cichocki.

The family wishes to thank those care angels who tended to her in her final days including her hospice team, staff at Green Bay Health Services, nurses, and staff at Belin Hospital. She had a rough road. May she rest in peace.
