Obituary

Gloria E. Hoolihan (nee Dorn), passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2024 with her family at her side at the age of 90. Gloria was born to the late Leo and Dorothy (Suttner) Dorn on May 25th, 1934 in Neenah, Wisconsin. She was a lifelong resident of Neenah, Wisconsin. Gloria raised her two children with the love of her life, Roger M. Hoolihan after their marriage in August of 1955. She found joy in cross-stitching, boating, gardening and sewing. She was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed entertaining for the games at their home.

Gloria graduated from Neenah High School in the spring of 1953 and was the proud Captain of the Neenah Cheerleading squad, and member of the Choir, Drum Majorettes, and Diving Team. Her athleticism continued into adulthood and Gloria enjoyed golfing and bowling with husband Roger for years. Roger and Gloria spent decades pouring love and energy into their cottage on Washington Lake in Cecil, WI. For all the hours spent boating and swimming, there were twice as many spent on projects, cleaning, and maintenance. The cottage, time spent with family, and all the summers spent on the lake, are a lifelong gift that their family can never repay.

Gloria will be fondly remembered for her creativity and talent in crafting. Friends and family proudly display many of her handmade creations in their homes, which serve as a reminder of her love, ensuring that her memory lives on through her talents. Gloria also cherished her breakfasts with her close-knit group of friends. Their shared laughter, stories and support brought her immense joy over the years.

Gloria is survived by her husband Roger M. Hoolihan; children Mark (Cheryl) Hoolihan and Kathy (Ron) Brehm; Grandchildren Eric (Ashleigh) Brehm, Marlys (Chase) Freimark, Bradley Hoolihan and Benjamin Hoolihan; Great-grandchild Murphy J. Freimark; as well as her sister in law Patricia Schultz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Jeanette Jacobson (Paul) Collipp (Cully) and her brother Robert (Shirley) Dorn.

The family would like to thank ThedaCare Hospice and the staff at Copperstone Assisted Living for the loving care they provided the last few weeks.

A funeral mass will be held Friday October 11th at St. Margaret Mary's Church, 620 Division St. Neenah. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be held at a later date.

Aunt Gloria was mygodmother. Growing up she was like a second mom to me. I remember staying overnight and eating Sammy's pizza with them. Loved our time at the cottage swimming, boating and having fires. I will definitely miss her I will miss her in my life. Love, Susan (she never called me Sue)
