Obituary
Jayme Bertus Olson, age 97, of Neenah, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Jayme was born January 13, 1927, in Appleton, WI to parents Robert Olson and Lola DeWolfe Olson. He graduated from Appleton High School in June of 1944 and served in the US Navy as a Quartermaster on a minesweeper in the Pacific from January 1945 through August 1946. Jayme attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in January 1951. Jayme was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
Jayme married Ann Frances Elkington on May 1, 1951, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Amarillo, Texas. Jayme worked as an engineer for the Marathon Corporation in Wausau and Neenah, retiring in 1982.
Jayme was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Menasha. He took great pride in helping build a cabin for the St. Thomas Boy Scout Troop 3. Jayme enjoyed traveling, woodworking, sailing and golfing.
Jayme is survived by his daughter Penny (John) Koppinger of Seneca, SC and son Kenneth (Mary) Olson of Eagan, MN. He leaves behind 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2013, brothers Robert and Harry, and sisters Beverly and Louise.
Jayme's life will be celebrated with a 2 p.m. service on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 226 Washington St., Menasha, with Fr. Chris Arnold and Fr. Bill Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.

Jayme's quiet, thoughtful ways will be missed by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
