Obituary

Jeffrey E. Neely, age 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on April 22, 2024. Jeff was born on July 5, 1966 to Tony Sr. and Diana (Cates) Neely in East St. Louis, Illinois. He graduated from Neenah High School in 1985. He started his career at Wisconsin Industrial Testing in 1985 as an NDT Technician. In 1987 he worked at AC-Compressor and in 1989 he was promoted to pipe fitter and he attended Fox Valley Technical College and received his journeyman card in 1994.  He did pipe fitting work at AC in Appleton before GE bought the operation in 2001 and moved to Oshkosh. He continued working as a pipe fitter for GE until the plant closed in 2011. He then went to work for EGI Mechanical in Seymour, WI where he worked as a Project Manager and lead pipe fitter until his retirement in 2020.

Jeff was always the life of the party. Never saying no to a good time. He knew how to light up the room with his infectious laugh and big personality. He was a true outdoorsmen. He spent endless hours hunting, fishing, and camping all across the country, alongside his hunting dog Bullseye. He taught the importance of what it means to be a hard worker. He was incredibly kind and generous, always wanting to offer a helping hand to those in need. He was a devout family man, and took pride in being a son, brother, father, and grandfather. He took every chance to brag about his girls with anyone who would listen. Jeff leaves behind a lasting impact on all of us and he will be deeply missed.

Jeff was a tremendous human being. I had the privilege of being his science partner in 9th and 12th grade. We managed to get passing grades even though we caused some mischief for the teachers. I will never forget you Jeff. When I saw Jeff later in life he would always ask me T ,how are you doing? David Templeton

My sincere sympathy to the family in the loss of Jeff. I worked at AC Compressor when he was there and I loved my conversations with his Dad, Tony. I was so excited when he started at EGI and we got reconnected. Thoughts and prayers to the family!

Jeff’s brother Bob was a good friend of mine when we lived in Madison. Jeff would come to Madison occasionally and we would go out and we always had a blast. He was an awesome guy and treated everyone with respect. He will be missed.

Fare thee well my friend!!! I so wish to have known you better! You were always so self assured. This world has been made now a lesser place. You are and will be missed now and until the end of time!! We will meet again one day on the flip side, when it is my turn to leave this world.
