Obituary

Joan C. Redlin, age 74, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born September 13, 1949, in Highland Park, Il, daughter of the late Richard Blackburn and Alyce Barton.

Joan moved to Wisconsin at the age of 16, graduating from Neenah High School in 1967. She married Steve Schwerin in June 1967 in Eagle River, WI. He passed away unexpectedly in October 1982.

Joan moved to Arizona where her passion for writing led her to work for the Arizona Theatre Company. Later, her desire to help others brought her to her true calling as an ophthalmic surgical assistant and medical clinic manager. Joan moved back to Neenah in 2018 and married John Redlin on November 13, 2019, on a beach in Florida. She enjoyed spending time in Florida with her husband traveling, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Christopher (Bradie) Schwerin and Ann Noelle (Thomas) Price; three grandchildren: Kieran Schwerin, Brayden Schwerin, and Claire Price; stepson, Jason Redlin, her sister Gail Hodder; and brother, William Blackburn.

Joan was preceded in death by her son, James Schwerin.

Joan was all about family and was most willing to welcome in all family and extended family members: sister-in-law, JoEllen (Lee) Whitpan; brother in-law, Greg (Daniela) Redlin; John's step-children: Derek (Van)  Anunson, Stephanie (Mark) Smith; grandchildren: Christian Smith, Kellen Anunson, Sadie and Gavin Smith; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home at 3:00PM on Friday, September 13, 2024, with Rev. Rebecca Henry officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. Joan was a lovely, kind and caring lady, always smiling and always there to help others. For the short time that we knew Joan we had many a fun time at the beach in Florida. These memories will be held close to our hearts forever ❤️

My deepest condolences to family, friends and loved ones. Chamonix was so beautiful on the inside and out. I have so many great memories of her. I met her at the age of 14, and she opened her door and hearts to so many. It’s been years since we have seen each other, but I will hold onto our precious memories….long conversations, her guidance, her unconditional love and trick or treating with my children and her grandchildren. She lived for her family! I find peace knowing that she is with Jaime now. I know that she will watch over all of us. I’m am so happy that she found her soulmate and lived her life to the fullest. May everyone find comfort with your memories. I love you Cham! ❤️ Sending love to the family.
