KATHLEEN MUNTNER
December 19, 1946 - August 27, 2023
Obituary
Kathleen Ann Muntner, Age 76, passed into eternal life on Sunday August 27th 2023, surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born December 19, 1946 daughter of the late Paul & Helen (VanEnkenvoort) Newton. Born in DePere, WI Kathy resided most of her life in Neenah. As a child, one of 12, music was always present in their home. Her childhood was spent with siblings playing games and ice skating with neighborhood friends.
She married her husband, Peter Muntner August 9th, 1969. Their marriage was blessed with two beautiful girls, Suzanne and Barbara. Kathy and Pete together excelled at bowling and golf and played on leagues for many years in the Fox Valley.
Kathy retired from Wisconsin Tissue Mills after nearly 40 years. While there she was a passionate Union Board member and advocate for worker's and women's rights. Throughout her years she may have single handedly kept Folders in business, her love of coffee was second to none. After retirement she spent many days with her beloved Grandson, Sam Muntner, going to the pool, the movies, and any kind of shenanigans they could whip up. Annual outings with her sisters, and niece Lisa was always something she looked forward to. A brandy old fashioned was another simple pleasure although she couldn't have more than 2. Supper Club dining, especially Dick & Joan's was where you could find her most weekends. Weekdays included every single episode of The Waltons, over and over, and over again.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Barbara Muntner and her grandson Sam Muntner. Siblings: John Newton, Connie Zemlock, Paula (Edward) Geiger, Anna (Jack) Johnson, JoAnn (Andrew) Purdy, Jackie (Mike) Jung. She is also survived by brothers & sisters-in-law: Mary Remmel, Margie (John) Schmit, and David (Teri) Muntner. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her precious daughter Suzanne Muntner, husband Peter Muntner, infant sister Sylvia, sisters Betty Losselyoung, Nancy Van Price, and Barbara Lauson. Brother Larry Newton. Parents-in-law Michael & Regina Muntner. Sister-in-law Darlene Newton. Brothers-in-law Dan Losselyoung, James Zemlock, Roger Van Price, James Lauson, and Richard Remmel.
