KENNETH ROBINSON

KENNETH ROBINSON

May 10, 1954 - July 11, 2023

Obituary

Kenneth John Robinson, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born in Neenah, May 10, 1954, son of the late John Robinson and Petronella (Willems). Ken married Sherry Steffen on September 20, 1986.

Kenny “The Keggler” Robinson began funding the Miller Brewing Company in the 1970's to ensure quality work was being turned out over the nearly 5 decades of mill work. His children didn't want for much growing up because of Ken's tireless work ethic. Whether it was going camping or taking family trips with countless hours of the Eagles being played, they were always on the go, only stopping to sleep at a hotel that had a pool and HBO at Josh's insistence.

The state of Wisconsin never had a more avid sports fan. From Robin Yount and the Brewers, to surviving being a Packers fan through the 80's, Ken loved all Wisconsin sports.

The memories his son, Josh, will always keep with him are trying to stay awake until he got home from work, hiding behind the couch, and inevitably falling asleep; making him flex his gigantic bicep from moving manhole covers all day; and Ken walking through the mall with Josh, arms and legs wrapped around him, dangling like a monkey for as long as he could do it. Ken taught Josh the meaning of hard work, fun, being a man, and was the best dad anyone could ask for. The world has BIG shoes to fill and is worse off without him in it.

His daughter, Kristin, will hold on to the way Ken never treated her as anything less than his own daughter. She will always remember family camping weekends, driving to Florida in Ken's first, beloved minivan, his love for Christmas Eve, him walking her down the aisle at her wedding, and how happy he was to become a “Papa” when his grandchildren were born.

From his wife, Sher, Ken was the best husband anybody could have ever asked for. He always put her, their children, and grandchildren first. He always worked overtime and spent a lot of time with his children and grandchildren to give them everything. He was the most unselfish and forgiving person she knew. His family and friends were very important to him. His wife, Sher, will forever love and miss him. In Sher's words, “Goodbye my friend, my husband, and love,”.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sherry; their two children: daughter, Kristin (Kevin) Schamens; and son, Joshua (Andrea) Robinson; grandchildren: Lauren, Mason, Preston, Grayson, and Finnley; four brothers: Michael (Mary), Todd, Wayne, and Paul Robinson; and sister, Tammy.

He was further preceded in death by his parents: John and Penny; his siblings: Mary Ann, Timothy, Thea, and Karen.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held at The Cimarron Bar & Grill (W7170 Highway 10 114 Menasha, WI) on Saturday, August 12 from 1:00-4:00 pm.

Ken's family would like to thank the Fox Crossing Police and Fire Departments and Gold Cross Ambulance.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! I was heartbroken to hear that Ken passed away. I know you all will miss him but be assured, he is still here in all of our hearts and in God's loving hands. He was a good man, had a great sense of humor and I always enjoyed sharing fishing stories with him and I was looking forward to spending some time with him out on the lake once I retire in a few months. He will be missed greatly.
