Obituary

Lynn R. Olson, age 79, of Neenah,WI, passed away at his home on Monday morning July 31,2023. He was welcomed into this world by Lillian Mossestad and Richard Olson on Sept. 15,1943, in Thief River Falls. After serving in the Navy for 3 years, he met and married his beautiful wife Bonnie Olson on June 4, 1966, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Neenah and were married for 51 wonderful years, until she passed away on August 10,2017. They were blessed with 2 children, Lisa Olson and Terry Olson.

Lynn's faith journey continued when they became members at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha. He served his community church as an elder for many years and enjoyed serving the Lord in their wonderful food pantry program. He also found much peace and comfort at their bible study. He was adored by all who knew him.

Lynn created many memories with his family. Many years of camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, and hunting. He enjoyed bowling leagues for many years with Bonnie and many friends also. He also enjoyed watching many sports like the Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Nascar. He also loved his golf and played in a league for many years.

Lynn was involved in many volunteer programs as well. His biggest passion was our Larsen/Winchester Lions Club and was proud to share and serve with his daughter, Lisa. He loved organizing our pancake breakfasts and was involved in building handicap ramps for many years too. Through the 25 years of service he was a past President and honored with many awards such as the Birch Sturm award, Melvin Jones award, Lion of the year. To all the Lion members in attendance, please wear your Lions vests. Lynn also was a dedicated blood donor at the Community Blood Center, giving over 10 gallons of blood over the years. He believed the motto of Live Generously, Love Abundantly.

Lynn will deeply missed by all who knew him including his daughter and caregiver Lisa Olson, Neenah; beloved grand-daughter Alisha (Ben) Papac  and his precious great-grandbabies: Bennett and Oliver Papac; his son, Terry (Julie) Olson; step-grandchildren: TJ Klebs and his family, Nick Klebs; his brother, Kim (Betty) Olson; nieces and nephews: Jason (Christy) Olson, Shannon (Gabriel) Orr, Josh (Annie) Olson, Tammy (Scott) Heberling, Katie Olson, Tori (Tyler) Stearns; Colorado; great-nieces and nephews: Tristan and Trinity Orr; Alex and Tyler Olson, Jordan, Jade, Gabriel and Jeremiah Olson, McKenna and Bodi Heberling, Tia (Dominic) Morris, Hunter and Mason Stearns; and many friends and of course, his Trinity church family.

Sadly, he is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bonnie, sister Karen and several uncles and dear friends.

The Memorial Service for Lynn will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, which is also the 6th heavenly birthday of his beloved wife Bonnie. It will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (Broad & Tayco St. Menasha) with Rev. Steven Billings officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service. Immediately following the service there will be an informal procession to Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah, where Military Honors and burial will take place. After the burial, please join us for a Celebration of Life and Heavenly Birthday for his wife Bonnie, at his favorite local establishment, The Beehive Bar & Grill in Neenah, for food and drinks. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
