Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Mary Ann passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, July 15th, 2024. Mary Ann was born August 28th, 1937; daughter of the late Ernest and Catherine (Scheffel) Faulks. She graduated from Neenah High School in 1955 and married the love of her life Harry Oscar Sitzberger, in Oshkosh on August 17, 1957. Together they moved to Minneapolis to finish Harry's education at Dunwoody College where she started her professional career with General Mills.
Upon returning to Neenah, Mary Ann was Executive Assistant at Neenah Foundry and continuing her career, she and Harry started their family business, Protective Coating Specialists. They enjoyed many friendships through the years as members of the Appleton Yacht Club, the Neenah/Menasha ELKS, and the Appleton Metropolitan Dance Club. Together, she and Harry enjoyed a life of boating with many of their dear friends.
Sharing her love and passion for baking and cooking, she passed down many recipes throughout the years. Mary Ann was a religious member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menasha. Mary Ann enjoyed volunteering her time to “Meals on Wheels” and “St Joseph's Food Pantry”.
Mary Ann was dedicated to her family and many friends she nurtured throughout her years, including the friendships she made through her “New Beginnings” group after her husband (Harry Oscar Sitzberger) passed away in 2001. She was a proud and honored grandmother of Cole (Cassie Crawford), Megan (Grant) Freimuth, Hunter (Jenna Sheldon), Payton (Alex) Grover, and Hope; and great grandmother of Asher Sitzberger and Colette Freimuth. She was further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. She was described by everybody that she graced as “a beautiful woman inside and out”.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Catherine Faulks; two sisters, Eloise Biettler and Arlene Wadel; brother, Edward Faulks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 622 Division St, Neenah, with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. A visitation will be held at church from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service. Mary Ann will be laid to rest with Harry at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha.
