MYRTLE MORRIS

August 14, 1935 - May 25, 2023

Obituary

Myrtle Anna Mae Morris, 87, passed into the presence of the Lord on May 25, 2023.  She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, US, on August 14, 1935, to Forrest and Leona Williams and was the youngest of four children:  George Williams, Mary Loper, and Forrest Williams.  Myrtle is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raymond Morris, and her children, Stephen (Maria) Morris and Sharon Morris, and her grandchildren, Adriana, John, and Isabella, and her great granddaughter, Lucia.

Myrtle committed her life to the Lord Jesus Christ when she was a young girl.  She went to school in Oshkosh, graduated with a teaching degree from Northwestern in Minneapolis, and taught elementary school in Wisconsin for a few years before going to Bolivia as a missionary.  While there, she met and married her husband, Ray, who was also a single missionary from Australia.  Their 3 children were born in Bolivia with one child who died at birth.

Together, Myrtle and Ray served in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, and Argentina.  They were heavily involved in teaching via extension courses so Christian leaders could continue ministering where they were located.  She and Ray also served at several Bible institutes and seminaries.  Myrtle had a knack for numbers and often used her talents on the finance side of the mission.  She had an extensive ministry to women; while in Peru, she often traveled and walked to different churches to minister alongside her other Peruvian sisters in the Lord.  During her ministry, Myrtle was known for having a sense of humor and telling stories.  Her ability to take things as they came without fuss was one of her strengths and one of the reasons she could be so effective in her environment.

Myrtle's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, at 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) at Calvary Bible Church, at 1450 Oakridge Rd, Neenah, WI 54956. Please use the EAST, or Main parking lot and enter thru Door #2. The service will be live streamed at https://youtube.com/live/L-3K5URXQfQ?feature=share.

To the Morris Family and to all those who knew Myrtle, I offer my humble and sincere condolences at this sad time. Over many years I was fortunate to have known Myrtle and to have had the opportunity and time to enjoy her company and warm hospitality when we were together. As it is, with anyone we cherish, all too soon to say adieu. Myrtle l will miss you but I will warmed in my lifetime with fond memories of you. Ronald
