Obituary

Raymond Anthony Racette was surrounded by his family as he peacefully went to his eternal home, to be with our Heavenly Father on February 6, 2025.  Ray was born in Iron Mountain, MI on June 2, 1929. He joined the Naval Reserves from 1947-1950, and went on to enlist and serve in the Army, during the Korean War until 1953.

In April of 1953, he married the love of his life, Joyce E Postuchow.  Together they raised 7 children;  Pamela (Galen Carpenter), Carla (Jerry Smith, deceased), Raymond (Cathie), Ronald (Kim), Jay (Deb), Daniel (Krissy), David.  His children, special in-laws; Ida Nord, Delbert and Shirley Siegler, 13 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews survive him.  Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce, his parents; Henry and Alida Racette, his wife's parents; Jacob and Cynthia Postuchow, 9 siblings, 6 sibling spouses, 2 great grandchildren.  Ray is the last of his generation in his family.

He (and Joyce) raised their family and lived most of his life in the Fox Valley. He was a dedicated hard-working man, working in the construction industry for over 40 years. Retiring from Appleton Lathing in 1994. 

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Lotus Gardens Senior Living and Moments Hospice, as well as Westgor Funeral Home.  Their kindness and special care during this time is appreciated.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, with Military Honors performed by the Neenah/Menasha Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the service.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Neenah, WI next to the love of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, his favorite charity or any children's charity. (www.stjude.org or call 800-822-6344)

My condolences to the Racette Family. I was sorry to hear about Ray Sr. passing. Appleton Lathing Corporation would not be the company it is today if it was not built on a foundation of men like Ray Sr.
