RICHARD BORDEAUX

October 22, 1940 - July 16, 2024

Obituary

Richard “Dick” Bordeaux, age 83, passed away on July 16, 2024 of natural causes at Brewster Village in Appleton, WI.  Born October 22, 1940, in Antigo, WI, he married Jacqueline Bordeaux on November 8, 1958, in Neenah, WI.  They shared nearly 40 years and four children together before separating. She preceded him in death May 13, 2015.  All he knew was trucking, having driven, in some capacity, for nearly 60 years.  Dick loved anything country-western (could probably recite every episode of Gunsmoke) and you rarely ever saw him without cowboy boots and cowboy hat on.  He also enjoyed motorcycles, stockcar racing, camping, and a good cookout.

In his later years he met best friend/partner Beverly Hoehne, and was a very special part of her and her family's lives for over 20 years.  He loved her children and grandchildren as if they were his own. Beverly preceded him in death on May 20, 2020.

He was further preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Bordeau and Pearl Boness (Robinson); sister- in- law, Lorraine (Lowell) Wahlers; brother- in- law, John (Marcella) Wideman; James (Betty) Wideman; and brother-in-law Lawrence Porter.

Dick is survived by his sister, Geraldine Porter; children: Chris (Tish) Bordeaux, Terry Bordeaux (Scott Landmesser), Fred (Jennie) Bordeaux, Bobbi (Jeremy) Olson; grandchildren: Heather Bordeaux (special friend Jess), Shawn (Savannah) Bordeaux, Britney (Robert) Novak, Ashley (John) Maloney, Hannah (fiancé Brandon) Bordeaux, Rachel (special friend Chase), Lauren (special friend Jake), Kylee (fiancé Jarrad) Olson, Dylan Olson; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Tayler, Natalie, Lena, Aoife, Barrett, Lorcan, and Mannix. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Moment's Hospice and the staff at Brewster Village for the exceptional care they provided Dick during his final days. The gentleness and kindness that was shown, not only to him but to the family, during his time of transition was so comforting. A special thanks to Marilyn, Stacy, Austin, and Zane, members of Beverly's family who cared for him when he needed it most. Your kindness never went unnoticed.

Per Dick's wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal service will be held.  It is his hope that his family and friends will understand and remember him as they knew him prior to his passing.

“Down all the highways that you traveled, blacktop, stone, and even gravel.  On every journey through and through.  God's angels rode beside you.  Your shift is over driver, you can rest now.”
