Obituary
Richard J. Briquelet, 82, passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness.
Richard was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Orville and Marion (Wouters) Briquelet. He grew up on Ridge Road in Green Bay, attended St. Joseph's Church and graduated from Premontre HS. After attending technical college, he worked briefly as a mechanic before joining the Green Bay Fire Department in 1964. He retired in 1993 as a Staff Chief.
Richard was married May 5, 1962, to Gloria Sonnenberg of Iola, at St. Agnes Church in Green Bay and continued to live on Ridge Road, raising their seven children. He loved camping, the Packers, building and fixing things, riding his tractor, and making people laugh. His greatest joy was being a generous and kind grandpa to his 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife Gloria, children, Sally Briquelet, Sandy (Dave) Kruse, Sharon Rezabek, Scott Briquelet, Shawn (Lisa) Briquelet, and Sheleen Briquelet. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Mae (Derick) Worley, Lydia (Nick) Janssen, Matthew (Lisa) Heroux, Jarred (Charrel) Heroux, Trista (Shanin) Salesville, Andrew (Sarah) Weimer, Karissa, Kasey, Karmen, Karsen, and Kristina Kruse; Stella, Amanda, and Adelle Rezabek; Ashton and Wesley Briquelet; and Brody and Reeve Helgeson; great-grandchildren, Brielee, Easton, Luc, Grace, Zac, Madyson, Blake, Bastion, Myla, Bella, Riley, Zoey, and Maisey. He is also survived by his brother Dave Briquelet.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, oldest child, Susan E. Bellin, along with his siblings, Judy Coshun, Dan Briquelet and Daryl Briquelet.
A private wake and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
