Obituary

Thomas T. Gierke (February 18, 1972 – May 6, 2025)

Thomas T. Gierke, age 53, of Menasha, left this earth and entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Tom was an extremely intelligent and social man with a passion for helping others and a strong work ethic. The work he did (helping others with disabilities find the services they needed) was a perfect fit for him and he loved his job. Tom was also very sociable and loved getting out and about. He was active with My Team Triumph, Family Life Wisconsin, and did motivational speaking as well as serving as a mentor to many. He loved to decorate their home to coordinate with holidays and changing seasons. He was also mechanically inclined and could troubleshoot almost any problem to a successful end. He loved the Lord and his family and was an inspiration to everyone he met.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, Jana and son Zane (Chelsea) Smith and new grandson Colton; his mother Carol Gierke; brothers and sister: Jeff (Lori) Gierke, Mark (Barb) Gierke, Tim Gierke, and Theresa (Craig) Lyon; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Bill (Ann) Herron, Launce (Andrea) Herron, and Juanna (Brad) Parker. Tom is further survived by nieces, nephews and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman, his brother Daniel and his mother and father-in-law, Edward and Janice Herron.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11th at Westgor Funeral Home at 1140 Appleton Road in Menasha from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Monday, May 12th at Christ The Rock Community Church at W6254 US Highway 10-114 in Menasha from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Kiel.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the many friends who helped Tom over the years along with ThedaCare Regional Hospital Neenah ICU staff. Your care for him was a gift from God.

Jana and Family,  My family and I were saddened by the news  of Tom’s passing. We were truly blessed to have had Tom as our TMG Consultant, we are thankful for Tom’s kindness, compassion and knowledge. He has been such a huge inspiration to us over the past few years and his absence is going to be felt by my family for a very long time. We hope you and your family can find comfort in knowing that Tom is no longer in any discomfort or being hindered by his immobilities. Praying for comfort for you all during this difficult time.

We are so saddened by your loss, Jana and Zane.  Tom was a friend to everyone.  Funny, devoted to his work, a lover of Jesus, an overcomer of obstacles and a loving husband and father.  We are praying for you as you process and grieve.  We are thankful for the friend he was to us.  Thankful for his smile and contagious laugh.  Again, so, so sorry!
