VELDA FISCHER

Velda M. Fischer, age 94 of Neenah, passed away late Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was born in Birnamwood, WI to the late Rudolph and Margaret Kolbe on July 6, 1928. On October 20, 1951, she was united in marriage to Dorance Fischer. Together they had six children and lived outside of Neenah in a one-room schoolhouse that Dorance had renovated.

God was Velda's number one priority. She was a longtime, and very involved, member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She loved to sing and was very generous to many charities. She didn't have much, but she gave what she could. Velda also enjoyed puzzles, walking, playing cards and gardening.

She was also known to feed the cats and birds that lived outside their schoolhouse home.

Velda will be sadly missed by her large family. She leaves behind five children: Bonnie Schramm; Doran (Becky) Fischer; Cheryl (Mark) Miller; Lisa (Ron) Tews; and Loren (Sharon) Fischer; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorance; her daughter, Valli McKerchie; two grandchildren; and by all of her siblings.

A private family funeral will be held for Velda. She will be laid to rest with Dorance at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah.
