EYVONNE BUTTS
November 03, 1936 - July 26, 2023
Obituary
Yvonne Mary (Jansen) Butts, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She was born November 3, 1936, in Appleton, daughter of the late Henry and Loretta (Coenen) Jansen. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1954. Yvonne married Lyle Butts on June 14, 1958.
Yvonne worked as a secretary in the engineering department at Kimberly Clark for several years before moving on to the Outagamie County Veterans Office, until she retired in 1998. She was a member of St. John the Baptist in Menasha. Yvonne took pride in preparing homegrown produce year-round to feed her family; she washed and distributed bags of garden goodies in the summer, then pickled, canned and froze them for the winter. Yvonne kept her hands busy for many years embroidering kitchen towels and was always ready for any type of card game with her kids, grandkids, card club friends, or neighbors at Pelican Lake. She loved fishing at the cottage, both in a boat and on the ice. Yvonne will be fondly remembered on Sunday afternoons with her weekly old fashioned in hand.
Yvonne is survived by her four children: daughter, Debbie (Curt) Seefeld; sons: Dave (Ann), Dan (Nancee), and Dean (fiancé Debbie Leitz); eight grandchildren: Scott Zeinert, Emily Butts, Danielle Butts, Jenna (Nathan) Mulder, Mikayla Butts (fiancé Jordan Fenner), Lydia Butts, Dominic Sorge, and Brianna Sorge; and a great-grandson, David Mulder. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Lyle; their daughter, Dena Sorge; and siblings: Eugene Jansen, Elaine Dohr and Earl Jansen.
Funeral service for Yvonne will be 11:00 AM on Friday, August 4, 2023, at St. John Church, 516 DePere Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held at the church Friday morning beginning at 9:30 AM until the service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated and directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Cancer Society in Yvonne's name.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dimensions Living of Appleton for their care and compassion during Yvonne's year of many difficult losses. She enjoyed the friendly, helpful staff who brought smiles to her days.
