Obituary
Donald W. Zolkowski, of Neenah, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Matthews Senior Living of Neenah. He was born December 23, 1925 in Menasha, son of the late John and Martha (Wrobeleski) Zolkowski.
Don graduated from Menasha High School, class of 1943. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Missouri and he was present for the Peace Treaty signing at Tokyo Bay, Japan, in 1945. Don married Kathlyn “Kay” Gehrke, on October 4, 1958. She preceded him in death on December 1, 1995.
Don retired from Jewelers Mutual in 1991 where he was a Vice President and served on their Board of Directors. He enjoyed golfing and watching sports.
Don was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and served on their St. Vincent DePaul Committee. He was also a member of the Menasha Elk's Club and the Neenah Club.
Survivors include his three children: Greg (Maureen) Zolkowski, Terry (John) Schneider, Todd (Tina) Zolkowski; nine grandchildren: Paskah and Tobin Zolkowski, Chase and Darby Schneider, Jesse (Sarah) Zolkowski, Logan Zolkowski, Brode (fiancee Brooke Navis) Zolkowski, Kayla (Eric) Nabbefeld, Hailey Zolkowski; a great-grandson, Grant; and two brothers: Jerry (Diane) Zolkowski, Jack (Nancy) Zolkowski.
Don was preceded in death by a son, Paul; and two brothers: Robert and Richard.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 660 Division St., Neenah, with Rev. Michael I. Ingold and Rev. Joe Mattern officiating. The visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Full Military Honors will be performed at Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum with the Neenah Menasha Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in his name.
