ROBERT SCHNEIDER

Robert F. Schneider, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on October 6, 1951 in Neenah, son of the late Leonard and Geraldine (Sauter) Schneider. After high school, Robert proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On December 17, 1976 he married Debra K. Guralski at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah. The marriage was blessed with one daughter, two granddaughters, and 37 wonderful years. Robert was most recently employed by the U.S. Census Bureau, but was otherwise enjoying his retirement to the fullest. He was a skilled handyman, always willing to help his family or friends. To most, he was their Go-To Guy. He loved fishing, boating, snowmobiling, playing cards and pool, and making people laugh. Above all, times spent playing with his grandchildren were cherished most of all. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Debra; his daughter, Laura (Aaron) Goerlitz, Menasha; granddaughters, Margaret and Hazel Goerlitz; sisters: Mary (Jerry) Knaap, Neenah, Margie Weaver, Waukegon, IL; a brother, Lenny (Roberta) Schneider, White Lake; siblings-in-law: Diane (John) Coughlin, Appleton, Darlene (Bob) Baumann, Clayton, Dorothy (Ken) Stumpf, Tomah, Dawn (Dan) Stumpf, Menasha, Duane (Moni) Guralski, Neenah, Denise (fianc Philip Slomski) Guralski, Appleton, Donny (Joan) Guralski, Neenah/Redgranite, Dejon (fianc Ed Kohl) Guralski, Greenville, Doreen (Todd) Smith, Menasha; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Harvey and Germaine Guralski; and his niece, Kathy Coonen. Funeral Mass for Robert will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church (528 Second Street, Menasha) with Father Paul Paider officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home, and again on Thursday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
