RICHARD HESS

Richard L. Dick Hess, age 75, of Oshkosh, WI died August 31, 2013. He was born May 2, 1938 in Appleton, WI the son of the late Karl W. and Helen F. (Oberweiser) Hess. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1956. Dick served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Kretchmer and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan H. Hess in 2010. Dick is survived by his daughters, Paige Hess (special friend, Ken Tiny Thrun) of Winneconne, Gretchen (Mark) Diegel, of Neenah and Kristin (Shawn) Zagrodnik of Omro and grandsons, Cody (special friend, Lexi Fees), Joshua and Zachary Diegel and Drake and Dain Zagrodnik. Dick was founder and president of The R.L. Hess Company in Neenah until he retired. The greatest joys in his life were travel, wine and the search of a great hamburger. All of that was second to the joy he got seeing the world through the eyes of his grandsons. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Neenahs Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 " 7:00 p.m. followed by full military honors. Casual attire is expected. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
