DOROTHY SKAFTE

Dorothy Genevieve Skafte, of Neenah, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Valley VNA. She was born August 22, 1918, in Winchester, daughter of the late Clarence and Ella Helgeson. Dorothy was a Neenah resident most of her life and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She married Donald Skafte on November 2, 1935. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2004. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters: Shirley (Russell) Graunke, Winneconne, Carol Ventura and her companion, Roger Eisbrener, Appleton; a granddaughter, Jody (John) Merenick; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Alexander; four step-grandchildren: Russ Jr, Pamela, Paula and Katie; a brother, Les (Millie) Helgeson; and a sister-in-law, Mona Oskar, Neenah. Dorothy is further survived by her nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Winchester. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Our Savior's Lutheran church, the Valley VNA or Theda Care at Home Hospice.
