WILLIAM TOPPAN

William Hervey Toppan, Jr., "Bill", of Menasha and Sanibel, FL, age 88, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Cherry Meadows, following a long, valiant battle with Parkinson's disease. Bill was born November 23, 1925 in Augusta, Maine, son of the late William H. Toppan Sr. and June Bagley Toppan. He graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL, the University of Maine and the University of Illinois. Bill married the love of his life, Patricia Dennis Johnson, in 1985. He served as an engineer in the Merchant Marine and the U.S. Coast Guard in the European and Pacific Theatres in WWII. Bill was the owner and president of a paper converting company, B & J Supply Co. for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating and world travel. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dennis Toppan; two step-sons: Scott Dennis (Clare) Johnson, David Grant (Dawn) Johnson; and three step-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by two sons: Jeffrey and Bruce Toppan. A time of Celebration and sharing will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at MENASHA'S Westgor Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson's Assoc., 945 N. 10th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233, or to the charity of your choice.
