Obituary

Vance Clayton Hodges, 46, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2024. He was born October 1, 1977, in Richmond, VA, son of Larry Hodges of Birmingham, AL and Susan Rothberger of Signal Mountain,  TN.

Vance grew up in Signal Mountain where he attended Baylor High School. His education continued at University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Following graduation, Vance moved to Neenah, Wisconsin to begin his long career at Kimberly Clark.

Vance's pride and joy were his three girls Anabelle, Caroline, and Georgia. He had a special bond with each of his daughters. You could find him and Anabelle on the golf course or binging Marvel movies. Caroline and Vance enjoyed watching Bush People and Curse of Oak Island together. Georgia and Vance loved to go on diamond treasure hunts and end their day at the Olive Garden to eat pasta and unlimited breadsticks.  As a family,  they cherished walking to the coffee shop, practicing putting in the playroom and listening to Jimmy Buffet on road trips. Vance was an avid golfer who loved playing 18 holes, the highlight being a hole in one on Ridgeway 17. Vance also enjoyed fishing and was a passionate Alabama football fan.

Vance is survived by his three daughters; Anabelle, Caroline, and Georgia as well as their mother, Joy-Marie. He is further survived by his father, Larry (Pam) Hodges; mother Susan (Earl) Rothberger; sister Ansley Hodges; brother Adam (Allison) Hodges; niece and nephews, Hannah Whit, Austin, and Liam.

He is further survived by his grandmother Bea as well as many other extended family and friends.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Vances girls. he talked about you girls constantly when we chatted. And to his dad, who he valued so deeply and had the utmost respect for.  He would always say, “I have to talk to my dad”, or “yup that’s what my dad said”’.  Ill miss you my friend. ❤️
