Obituary
Amy Jean Kolk, age 84, of Necedah, WI passed away on Monday evening, Sept 9, 2024 after a long struggle with colon cancer. She was surrounded by family at her daughters residence while under hospice care there.
Amy was born on March 31, 1940 in Necedah, WI to William and Sylvia (nee Burlingame) O'Dell. She was the youngest of 15 children plus three step siblings and was a Necedah High graduate, class of 1959. She was a loving devoted mother of four and was married 64 years to the late Wayne Kolk, who preceded her in death in May of this year.
Amy enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family and writing and receiving letters. In the 1950's she waitressed and cooked at Larson's Root Beer Stand. Over 30 years later she would visit the owner, Evelyn Larson. Amy was a quiet, kind and compassionate listener who loved playing card games, billiards, dominos or enter in Euchre tournaments. Amy also enjoyed dancing and loved listening to country and 50's & 60's music. She always said Elvis was her favorite.
Amy leaves behind two sons, Kevin of Necedah, David of Mauston, WI; a daughter, Carla (Terrence) Morgan of Menasha, WI; five grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon, Richard, Devon, Colton and a great grandson, Carson. Other survivors include her brothers, Harold of Geyser, MT, James (Jean) of New Lisbon, WI a sister, Ida Henning, of Janesville, WI and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Marvin and her husband, Wayne.
A heartfelt thank you to all who were able to visit with Amy the past 2 and a half years as her health declined and the amazing Theda Care hospice team for all their loving care. Also, to all friends and relatives for your warm thoughts and prayers.

A memorial service will be held for Amy on Friday September 20th at 11:00 AM at Necedah United Methodist Church, 605 N Harvey St, Necedah, WI 54646. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service.
