FREDERICK SCHOESSOW

Frederick (Fritz) Arthur Schoessow, 76, of Neenah, Wisconsin, passed away on October 26, 2024. Born on February 27, 1948, Frederick lived a life characterized by his deep devotion to God, family, and friends.

Fritz is survived by his loving wife, Jeaneen Schoessow; daughters, Rachel (Mark) Erbes and Andrea (Andy) Kulich; and grandchildren, Sydney and Karston Erbes, and Tanner and Jealynn Kulich. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Neoma Schoessow, and his brother, Lavern Schoessow.

Serving in the US Army from 1970 to 1978, Fritz reached the rank of Sergeant First Class, a testament to his dedication and leadership. After his military service, he was a guest performer with the Milwaukee and Chicago symphonies as well as a guest conductor with the Milwaukee Symphony. He was also in the Army band for eight years.  He then transitioned into civilian life with a successful career as a music teacher, Continental Youth Band Director, and Lake Band director, followed by a significant role in banking and bank management.

Fritz was an alumnus of UW Milwaukee, where he earned both his bachelor's degree in music education and master's degree in education. His commitment to education was lifelong, both as a student and an educator.

He was deeply involved in his community, volunteering with the Optimists Club and serving on many Chambers of Commerce boards from Arizona to Wisconsin.  Fritz was awarded Ambassador of the year in Oshkosh in 2010. Fritz also devoted 12 years as the financial secretary at Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Fritz joyfully conducted many church choirs and was a cherished member of every congregation he was a part of.

In his free time Fritz could be found on a golf course; cheering on his grandchildren at their various activities; golfing; pruning his gardens; golfing; road tripping with Jeaneen; and did we mention golfing.

Frederick's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held Wednesday November 13 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Rd, Neenah, WI 54956, with a memorial service to immediately follow. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Veterans Memorial at Shattuck Park. Checks can be made out to American Legion Post 33 and mailed to Post Office Box 632 Neenah, WI 54957-0632. Please include a note that the gift is in memory of Frederick A. Schoessow. Gifts received by the family will also be donated.
