Obituary

Michael Kenneth Anklam, 61, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025.

Born and raised in Menasha, Mike spent his life rooted in the Fox Valley. He worked as a machine operator at James River Corporation, and in his younger years, he attended college at night while being a devoted stay-at-home dad during the day. His children, Aaron and Janey, were his greatest joy. He never missed a chance to play catch in the yard, ride bikes, take them fishing, watch cartoons, or cheer them on at their sporting events.

Mike was a man of many passions, with hunting and fishing at the heart of his life—traditions passed down by his father. He especially cherished deer hunting each season, casting lines at the Neenah and Menasha Dam, and trout fishing near the old family farm in Valley, WI. Alongside his love of the outdoors, Mike carried a creative spirit. He enjoyed painting and drawing—a talent that reflected the artistic gifts of his mother. Mike loved music, especially rock and roll and heavy metal. He had a huge CD collection and always seemed to have one playing in his car. Mike also had a soft spot for cats, and his home was never without the warmth and companionship of his feline friends.

Mike is survived by his children, Aaron and Janey Anklam; his sisters, Luann Shanklin (Tom Lynch) and Sarah Hough (Ralph Hough); his former wife, Jody Anklam, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlice (Caucutt) and Kenneth Anklam.

A memorial service will be held Thursday September 11, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, WI 54956. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
