SONIA ROOT

Sonia Ann Root, of Neenah, age 78, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Bridgewood Nursing & Rehab. She was born September 5, 1935 in Stanley, WI, daughter of the late Leon and Violet Lussenden. Sonia was employed with Zwicker Knitting Mill for over 30 years. She was then employed with the VNA for many years. Sonia loved to bowl and enjoyed watching the Packers, especially Brett Favre. Sonia is survived by her children: Dan Root, Ann Root, Mark Root, Vicky Root, Pam Root and her friend, Isaac Bluitt; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernie Kelly; two brothers: Delbert (Dee) Lussenden, Dale Lussenden; and a half-sister, Donna Taylor. Sonia was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer; three great grandsons: Jackson, Brockson and Ben; her twin sister, Sylvia Willette; sister, Beverly Ortiz; and three brothers: David, Jerry and Tom Lussenden. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home. The visitation will on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
