EDWARD CHRISTENSEN

Edward D. Christensen, age 99, of Menasha passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at ManorCare Health Center in Appleton. He was born on May 1, 1914 in Menasha, son of the late William and Edith (Bredendick) Christensen. On May 16, 1936 he married Marie Luedtke, and the marriage was blessed with two daughters and 54 years before she preceded him in death in October of 1990. Edward was very strong in his faith, and his family and friends were his whole life. He is survived by his daughters: Sandra Vorachek, Menasha, Sharon (Robert) Wierschke, Combined Locks; grandchildren: David (Beth) Vorachek, Karen Vorachek, Teri (Wael) Rashidi, Dan (Barb) Vorachek, Randy (Carol) Wierschke, Wendy Wierschke, Erik Wierschke, Nicole (Nate) Werner, Chris (Amy) Wierschke, Donna Vorachek; 18 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Eleanor Gajewski; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and his wife, Marie, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Don Vorachek; grandson, Scott Vorachek, three great grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. The Memorial Service for Edward will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church (809 S. Commercial St., Neenah) with The Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
