Obituary
Patrick A Szydel, age 88, passed away on January 28, 2026. Patrick was born in Kewaunee, lived in Allenton, and later in his childhood moved to Milwaukee. Patrick graduated from the Boy’s Trade and Technical High School in Milwaukee in 1956. He was a very talented cabinet and furniture maker. Married his beloved wife Theodora (Teddy) on June 10, 1997. In his early years he worked in construction, then as a maintenance mechanic at Falk Corporation. After retiring from Falk Corporation, he worked at the Milwaukee Club as the head of maintenance while also managing 100+ apartment units in West Allis. After his wife’s passing in 2020, he moved to Larsen, Wisconsin to live with his daughter (Chris) and son in-law (Rick). He also was especially excited when pear, apple, and maple syrup seasons came along. He loved Rick’s canned pears, apple cider, and maple syrup.
Patrick is survived by his daughters Christine (Richard) Wilson, Susan Szydel (Bev), Sandra (Barry) Larson. Daughter in-law Kerry Szydel. Grandchildren – Jason (Leah) Wilson, Marissa Wilson (Philip Popour), Barry Larson, Brady Larson, and Spencer Szydel. Great Grandchildren – Isaac Wilson, Cecilia Wilson, and Miriam Wilson. Also, his furry pals Sugar and Lucy. Brothers – Michael (Laverne) Szydel, William (Paula deceased) Szydel, and Greg (Barbara deceased) Szydel,
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Caroline Szydel, son: David Szydel, brothers: Frank, Joseph, John Jr, James, and Thomas. Sisters: Lucille and Marylu. Sister in-laws: Paula Szydel and Barbara Szydel.
The family would like to thank the staff, RN, and caregivers at The Residence at Oshkosh. The hospice team from Aurora Health with special thank you to Erin and Ericka.
A private family service and burial will be held at Grace Lutheran in Winchester at a later date.
We are sending a dove to heaven with a parcel on its wings. Be careful when you open it, it's full of beautiful things. Inside are a million kisses, wrapped up in a million hugs. To say how much we miss you, and to send you all our love. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain. To walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again.
