Obituary

Carol M. Parker, 87, of Neenah died on January 4, 2026, following a short illness. She was born on February 7th, 1938, the daughter of Earl D. and Margaret (Briggs) Miller.

Carol graduated from Appleton High School. She attended Carlton College and graduated from Lawrence College with a Bachelor of Arts. She went on to earn her master’s degree of Science in Education Guidance. She was an exceptional high school teacher for the Neenah Joint School District until her retirement. Carol was married in 1960 to Kendall A. Parker and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her son David of Green Bay, her daughter Betsy, (Craig) Davisson of Neenah, her son Andy (Monika) of Green Bay, her grandchildren Megan (Ian) Smith of Mayville, Lauren (Mason) Philemon of Neenah, and Chloe, Teagan, and Douglas Parker of Green Bay, and her great granddaughter, Naomi of Mayville, and her great grandson of Neenah, who will arrive in March.  She is further survived by her brother David (Sandie) Miller of Sherwood, and Jim (Nea) Miller, of Stevens Point, and four nieces and three nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Hazel Anderson of Neenah. Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol had a special place in her heart for Door County, but regardless of place she always valued the time she shared with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed a profound appreciation of literature, particularly poetry.  Faith was foundational for her life, and active participation with church helped her share and grow that faith. Her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.  In her later years, she found comfort and companionship at The Highlands at Mahler Park, where the kindness and support of those around gave her a sense of warm belonging that really let her thrive.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at The Highlands at Mahler Park, 1555 Lyon Drive, Neenah (please use Main Entrance). A time of fellowship will follow immediately after the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

Mrs. Parker was one of my mentors. She helped encourage me to become a teacher! She stood by me and my decisions when others at NHS did not. I kept in touch with her until a couple years ago. Sad that she is gone! My sympathies to the family.
