Obituary

Allen A. Kozlowski, age 87 of Menasha, passed away on January 4, 2026. He was born at home on July 18, 1938 in Princeton, Wisconsin to the late Anna (Napieralla) and Bernard Kozlowski. On January 30, 1967, he married Barbara Sopel.

Allen was proud to have worked at Jacob’s Meat Market in his teenage years. After he graduated from Appleton High School, he enlisted in the Navy, serving in Puerto Rico. The bulk of his career was spent driving an 18-wheeler for the S. C. Shannon Company, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. After he retired, he and Barb couldn’t wait to enjoy their retirement years in sunny Tampa Bay, Florida fulfilling their lifelong dream. Allen’s hobbies always included building models. There’s not a person who could count how many he made over the years. He loved woodworking, paint by number and his model trains. Once they moved back to Wisconsin, Allen and Barbara drove school bus, where they met some good friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, with a crazy sense of humor!

Allen will be missed by his children Brenda Gorges, Connie Niemuth, Robert (Julienne) Butelefski , Debbie (Todd) Lemmens and David (Sonya) Kozlowski. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Miranda and Adam & their father Mike Gorges, Ben (Briana), Bryan (Becky), Jordan, Rhiannon, Emerson, Brad (Becky), Amanda (Riley), Michael (Emily), Andy (Ashley), and Ashleigh; and by his great-grandchildren: Vada, Bensen, Lyla, Finn, Calvin, Ryan, Owen, Ashton, and Madison. Allen is also survived by his brother Wayne (Deidre) Kozlowski and sisters-in-law Sharon Kozlowski and Lorelie Sopel (Jim) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by Barbara, his wife of 56 years at the time of her passing in 2023; his grandson Griffin Niemuth; his parents, Anna and Bernard Kozlowski; sister Judy; brother Ken; father and mother-in-law Heinz & Carolyne Sopel; sister-in-law Lana Sopel and his brother-in-law Jon Sopel.
