Obituary
Born September 12, 1932 to Loleta & Walter Bredendick, who preceded her in death in 1961 and 1973 respectively. After graduating from Menasha High School in 1950 she was employed as a secretary at Marathon Corp. In 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Jim, after which they became the proud parents of a son and daughter.
A devoted Christian mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother she did volunteer work with the Red Cross, American Heart Association, VNA, Cub, Brownie and Girl Scouts, PTA president, St. Timothy Lutheran Church as Sunday School teacher, choir director, assistant to the church secretary, counting committee, and various other committees. She also was a private piano and vocal teacher for beginners. She was President of the Youth Baseball program at Boys Sports, member of the Neenah-Menasha centennial committee and collaborated on the publishing of a booklet, “The Image of Menasha Schools”. For 15 years she was the Neenah-Menasha Newcomers Hostess, advisor to the Who’s New Club and was presented the Carol Award for Outstanding Service in the Community. She was Secretary and Vice-President of the Fox Valley Apartment Association, Co-ordinator of Volunteers for the Harbor Hospitality House of Theda Clark Medical Center, driver for Meals on Wheels, worked the flu shot clinics for the VNA, and was V.Pres./Office Mgr. of the Menasha Historical Society and has been a volunteer with the Fox Valley Memory Project since 2015.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Jeff (Debbie) Chew, daughter, Jan (Denny-deceased) Lamers, grandchildren Kelly (Jason) Hougom, Betsy (Derek-deceased) Nelson, Angela (Brad) Klipp, T. J. Lamers (Raegen), Jamie (Mark) Blumreiter and great-grandchildren Levi Nelson, Ivy Hougom, McCoy (Mac) Klipp, Weston and Hazel Jean Blumreiter, Myah Corbett, Jones and Luella Lamers, also family members Bobby and Wendy Kraus, Hayden and Jake (Maddie) Kraus. Although sports was very much a part of her life she was a faithful supporter of all aspects of her children and grandchildren’s lives.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Timothy Lutheran Church of which she was a member since 1945 (https://secure.myvanco.com/L-ZM0E/home) and the Fox Valley Memory Project (https://www.foxvalleymemoryproject.org/donate) or The (charitable) Lamers Foundation (https://www.thelamersfoundation.com) which gives back to the community plus helping those in need. A memorial service will be held Wednesday January 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 7th St, Menasha, WI, 54952. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
