HERMAN STANGE

Herman T. Stange, age 92, of Appleton passed away on Saturday morning, April 26, 2014 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. He was born on November 7, 1921 in Loyal, Wisconsin, son of the late Frank and Bertha (Lieske) Stange. After high school, Herman proudly served our country with the United States Army Air Force in World War II. On September 16, 1950 he married Mildred M. Oestreich in Loyal, and the marriage was blessed with three daughters, one son, 12 grandchildren, and 63 wonderful years. Herman was a hard working man and co-owner of Langstadt Electric Supply Company. He was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah. Herman loved fishing, water skiing, bowling, playing bridge, and time spent at their cottage on Post Lake. The highlight of his year (every year) was when his entire family gathered for one full week at the cottage to have fun, tell stories, laugh and love. He was a true Patriarch who cherished the memories that he made with his family, especially around the dinner table. His generosity and loving spirit will be truly missed by those who he leaves behind. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Millie; his children: Monica (Craig) Schulman, Yorktown Heights, NY, Robert (Jill) Stange, Janesville, Marcia Clarke, Savage, MN, Marla Lottes, Stoughton; grandchildren: Matthew, Eric, and Maya Schulman; Colin, Jared, and Mackenzie Stange; Jamie, Abby, and Kailey Clarke; Lauren and Jordan Lottes; a brother, Frank (Sue) Stange, Kenosha. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jenna Schulman. The funeral service for Herman will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (809 S. Commercial St., Neenah) with Rev. Catherine A.K. Mode officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Appleton's Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herman's name may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
