Obituary

Harry H. Goetsch, Jr., age 74 of Neenah, passed away peacefully early Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was born in Sioux Falls, SD to the late Harry, Sr. and Mabel Goetsch. Harry graduated from Mankato State University and soon after began his 43‑year career with Bemis. His employment led him to Wisconsin, where he met the love of his life, Susie.

Harry and Susie were married on May 6, 2000, and together they created a strong bond within their family. While never a biological father, Harry loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. Harry’s family was the center of his life, and he loved spending time with those he held close. He loved beginning each day having coffee with Susie, a simple joy she will miss dearly.

Harry enjoyed many things in life, and it showed in the thousands of smiles he shared with those around him. He cherished family traditions and always loved celebrating Christmas. He loved spending time outside working in the yard although he never liked shoveling snow or picking up the countless apples from the tree in the backyard. He and Susie enjoyed trips to Door County where they loved to discover new places, see the fall colors, and visit local shops. A longtime member of Ridgeway Country Club, Harry loved to golf and rarely passed up the opportunity to play. Harry was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the Minnesota Vikings.

Over the years, Harry made countless memories playing softball and taking part in bowling and dart ball leagues. He was also an enthusiastic cribbage player and took great pride in being a card-carrying member of the Cribbage Congress. Harry devoted many years of service to First English Lutheran Church, where he volunteered as an usher and church treasurer.

Harry left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him, and he was deeply loved in return. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 25 years, Susan; his children: Kristoffer (Tina Kraut) Olson; and Jennifer (Bill “Mac”) McIntosh; grandchildren: Tyler (Jaymee) Olson; Kyle Olson; Kaegan McIntosh; Kinley McIntosh; Hope (Sam) Felauer; Brennan (Meghan) Kraut; and Elijah Kraut; great-grandchildren: Greyson, Rowyn, and Vivian;  his brother, Allen (Brenda) Goetsch; his nieces Alyson Griffin, Lindsey Bushland, and Melanie Goetsch;  sister-in-law, Maxine (William) Van Hese and many cousins, relatives, and friends.

A memorial service for Harry will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North St., Appleton, with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and again at church on Thursday, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Harry’s family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff at Peabody Manor for their compassionate care during his time there. They would also like to thank ThedaCare Hospice for their support. To all Harry’s friends who stayed in touch with him and visited him regularly during his illness, thank you – Harry treasured your friendship.
