Judith Kopiske

Judith E. Kopiske, nee Alfertig, age 86, of Neenah, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, with family by her side. She was born April 29, 1939, to the late Reinhardt and Eleanor, in Neenah, WI.

Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Her love for her grandchildren was unrivaled. She was a great cook and showed love by cooking and baking for her family. Even when she was cooking for herself, and she made enough for an army, just in case anyone in the family wanted some. Judy was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Marquette Basketball.

Working with babies and kids brought her joy, which influenced the jobs she took. Judy worked as a nurses aide in the Pediatric Unit at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah. She also briefly worked as a “lunch lady” at Margaret Mary’s Elementary School. Her long-term job was at Akrosil Paper Coating Mill as a rewind operator.

Judy is survived by her children: Jean Umhoefer, Steven Kopiske, Michael Kopiske and Karen Kopiske; grandchildren: Rachel Umhoefer, Eric Umhoefer, Corey Kopiske, Kelsey Kopiske, Jude Simmons, Nikki Kopiske, Jennifer Jury and Jason Jury; and great-grandsons: Masyn, Keeton and Lawsyn. She is further survived by her sister, Joan (Jim) Coats; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her brothers: Gilbert Alfertig, and Gary Alfertig; as well as the father of her children and friend, Roger Kopiske.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th floor at Theda Care Regional Medical Center- Appleton. They are angels on earth!

A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held at a later date.
