Obituary

Kenneth Blom, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted community servant, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on April 9, 1937, in Waupaca, son of the late Clarence and Helen (Rasmussen) Blom, Kenneth lived a life defined by dedication to his family, faith, and community.

On August 22, 1959, Kenneth married Joanne Hardel. Their enduring love and partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them. Together they built a wonderful life in Neenah, Wisconsin, where they raised their family and formed lasting friendships throughout the community.

After graduating from high school in 1955, Kenneth proudly served in the National Guard, including a final year on active duty, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he began a 45-year career in the banking industry, including 40 years at Associated Bank, where he retired as Vice President. Throughout his career, Kenneth was known for his integrity, dedication and commitment to serving others.

Kenneth was deeply involved in this church, serving on the church council and participating in several mission trips, including efforts to rebuild communities in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. His spirit of service extended throughout the community as well. He volunteered as chairman of the YMCA, served as President of the Optimist Club, and was the treasurer of Youth Go, always looking for ways to support and uplift others.

A devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Kenneth held season tickets beginning in 1961. He and his family shared many memorable moments at Lambeau Field, including attending the legendary Ice Bowl with Joanne. Their shared love for the Packers became a cherished family tradition.

Kenneth also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with friends and family. Known for his warm and welcoming personality, he could easily strike up a conversation with anyone and quickly turn a stranger into a friend. He loved being around people and brought laughter and connection wherever he went. Above all else, Kenneth was devoted to his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and took pride in their lives and accomplishments. His steady presence, generosity, and love made him the heart of his family.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Joanne; his three daughters: Gretchen Davis; Kelly (Steve) Sain; and Jennifer (Eric) Bader, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren: Dylan Sain, Madison Sain, Alexis Davis, Ian Bader, and Alec Bader. His family will forever remember his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. Kenneth was preceded in death by his step-mother, Evelyn Blom.

Kenneth Blom’s life was a testament to kindness, service and devotion to others. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
