Arthur Howe

Obituary

Arthur P. Howe, age 93 of Menasha, came to the end of his life journey on Monday, March 30, 2025. He was born on November 17, 1932 to the late Alfred and Alice Howe.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, after graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, Art enlisted in the US Air Force. He served for 27 years in many capacities and was stationed in both the Philippines and Korea during times of peace. During his time in the Air Force he earned a master’s degree in computer sciences from Georgia Tech. At the time of his retirement from the military, Art had reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement from the military he worked in data processing for several institutions including the University of North Carolina Hospital System in Chapel Hill and USAA in San Antonio Texas.

Art was a restless soul who always had to have a project whether it be building a new home, fixing up an older home, getting a new set of wheels or working on woodworking projects or landscaping. Once one project was done he'd move on to the next, seldom looking back. In his retirement he just seemed to get the itch to move every couple years and start all over again, no doubt a holdover from his years in the service. He finally settled down to be closer to family in his later years and recently set a record of six years in the same house!

Art relished the company of his beloved Labrador retrievers: Gus, Mac and Sam, whom he has certainly reunited with by now at the other end of the rainbow bridge. He will be sorely missed by his current dog, Josie.

Art was a man of deep faith, always an active member of his church and a benefactor for many charitable organizations.

Art is survived by his four daughters: Frances (Larry Tripoli) Howe, Patricia (Bill) Kasper, Christine Howe and Danielle (Guillaume) Chauvet; grandchildren: Katie (Amol Kamat) Kasper, John (Sara Mayhew) Kasper, Annie (Riley Gravelle) Howe, May Chauvet and Elliott Chauvet as well as great-grandchildren: Tulsi and Aedan Kamat. He is further survived by his sister, Alice Weber. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dee Howe and two brothers: Kenneth and Alfred Howe.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, 516 DePere St., Menasha. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Military Honors will be held immediately following mass at St. Margaret Cemetery, where Arthur will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Doctors Without Borders in Arthur’s name.
