Sally Christensen

Sally Elizabeth Christensen (70) of Menasha, passed away on April 2nd, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 1, 1956 to the late Alice (Meyer) and Amil Dahl.

She attended St Mary’s school in her younger years followed by Menasha High School. After high school she worked with her dad at American Can until its closure. She finished her working career at Presto Products. Sally worked hard to provide for her family, putting in extra shifts so nobody had to go without.

She met James (Jim) Christensen in 1974 at Minnows bar and they were married two years later on Sept 18th. They cherished each other for 46 years until Jim’s passing. Together they had two children, Curt and Erin Christensen.

Sally was a great cook. While the kids were growing up she made meals big enough to feed them and all their friends, who eventually grew to call her Ma as well. Other moms would call and thank her for feeding their kids. Recipe books with some of her best were handed down and are regularly used. The grandkids frequently request and delight in those meals.

Sally enjoyed a good romance novel, and watching true crime shows. She could often be found at a casino playing slots or bingo. One of the highlights of her week was buying her lottery and scratchers. She regularly won! Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren whom she adored and spoiled. The grandkids never left her house without a pocket full of candy or a dollar or two in hand.

Sally by nature was a funny, and selfless person, always caring for the ones she loved. She always offered to make a meal, run an errand, or just be there in general. She was someone you could call in the middle of the night for a ride and she would show up with a pizza. You could always rely on Sally in the best and worst situations.

Sally will be deeply missed by her daughter, Erin Christensen; her son Curt (Sally) Christensen; and grandchildren Cole and Raimy Christensen. Further missed by two sisters, Alice Kelley, Della (Aubrey) Johnson; a brother, Dick Dahl; sister-in-law, Jessie Dahl; brother-in-law, Roger Loret; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Alice and Amil Dahl; mother-in-law, Lillian Christensen; father-in-law, Carl Christensen; grandchild, Jaycee Hlavacek; sister, Barb Loret; brothers, Amil and Elmer Dahl; sisters-in-law Diane Dahl and Lynn Dahl; brothers-in-law, Leonard Kelley, and John Christensen.

A memorial service for Sally will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Menasha’s Westgor Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Sally’s name.
