FLORENCE SCHNEIDEWEND

Florence L. Schneidewend, age 83, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on August 6, 1930 in Menasha, daughter of the late Alvin and Jennie (Kropidlowski) Dombrowski. Florence graduated from Menasha High School in 1948. On August 13, 1949 she married Leland A. Schneidewend, and the marriage was blessed with six children and 64 wonderful years. Florence worked as a hostess for A.R.A. Vending. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, where she volunteered her time with the Ladies Aide and for other church functions. Florence loved baking cookies, reading, polka dancing, collecting hummingbirds, eating dinner at Dick and Joan's, and camping back in the day. Above all, Florence's greatest joy was her family. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to no end. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Leland; her children: Jan (Randy) Dedering, Neenah, Jane (Mike) Stier, Neenah, Eileen (Earl) Patterson, Twin Falls, ID, Leroy (Dawn) Schneidewend, Menasha, Nancy (Jim) McMillan, Sycamore, IL, Sandra (Patrick) Callahan, Neenah; grandchildren: Janell (Dean) Sargent, Scott (Tracy) Dedering, Chad (Jennie) Dedering, Amanda LaFountain, Troy Dedering, Chris Stier, Craig (Carrie) Stier, Corey (Jessica) Stier, Jenni Patterson, John (Bailey) Patterson, Tedd (fiancée Kelly) Schneidewend, Hannah Schneidewend, Ryan McMillan, Matt (fiancée Nicole) McMillan, Austin Callahan, Aaron Callahan; 18 great grandchildren; many sisters- and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Dana Lee Dedering and Nicholas John Dedering; and sisters: Julie Dombrowski and Lee Kappell. The Funeral Service for Florence will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (300 Broad Street, Menasha) with Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name. A very special thank you to the staffs of Theda Clark 5th floor, and to ThedaCare at Home Hospice for your care and compassion.
