Sue Ellen John, 70, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2026.

Born on August 1, 1955, Sue Ellen lived a life marked by independence, resilience, and quiet determination. She was self-reliant and self-motivated from an early age, carrying those traits with her throughout her life. Known for her strong work ethic, she dedicated many years to her career, always giving her best in everything she did. Upon retirement, she embraced a slower pace and took well-deserved time to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of everyday life.

Family meant everything to Sue Ellen. She shared a deep and lasting bond with those closest to her and was known for her loyalty and care. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Sue Ellen is survived by her partner of 24 years, Mark Beyersdorf; their beloved dog, Chili; and her siblings: Ramon (Renie) John Jr., Cindy (Chuck) Johnson, Greg (Tammy) John, Melvin John, David (Mary) John, Jennifer (Greg) Braun, Matthew John, and Melissa John; as well as her brother-in-law, Lyman Otto. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Nancy John, her sister, Nancy Otto and her brother Anthony John.

In her free time, Sue Ellen found joy in life’s quiet moments. She loved working on puzzles, often losing herself in the challenge and satisfaction of completing them. She was an avid reader who enjoyed sharing books and thoughtfully recommending selections for the family book club, always eager to connect over a good story. She also had a special gift in the kitchen and was especially known for her delicious homemade caramel corn, a treat that became a beloved tradition among family and friends.

Sue Ellen will be remembered for her strength, her independence, and the genuine love she showed to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at City Limits in Menasha from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 30, 2026. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories, laughter, and honor Sue Ellen’s life.
