Obituary

Carol (Jean) Beschta, age 90, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion to her family. She was born on June 2, 1935, in Mackville, Wisconsin, to the late George Sr. and Delia (Hofacker) Reiland.

Jeannie was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Bill, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and love. As a dedicated stay-at-home mother, Jeannie lovingly raised eight children while also helping manage the family farm. Her strength, kindness, and tireless devotion created a home filled with warmth and care. She was a wonderful cook—no meal was ever complete without a delicious dessert. Jeannie and Bill also spent many years tractor pulling and enjoying time with their many friends.

After Bill’s passing, Jeannie moved to Touchmark Assisted Living, where she spent the last 14 years of her life. She cherished the friendships she made there and truly considered them part of her extended family.

She was a cherished mother to Bonnie (Tom) Lemieux, Terry (Jo) Beschta, Tom (Diana) Beschta, Vickie (Dan) Van Den Bogart, Roger (Jane) Reiland, Julie (Tim) Pitsch, and Dawn (Dale) Barth.

Jeannie was a treasured grandmother to Michelle, Chad, Riki, Chase, Kelly, Brittany, Dylan, Noah, TJ, Nicki, Ryan, Tyler, Cierra, Garrett, Cameron, Chris Rottier, Jessica, Justin, Nicholas, and Allison Reiland, along with 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought her endless pride and joy, and she loved each of them dearly.

Jeannie found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, spending endless hours crafting, enjoying a good game of sheepshead, and putting together puzzles. She and Bill also enjoyed spending winters in Florida with dear friends. These moments reflected her joyful spirit, sharp mind, and deep love of togetherness.

A woman of strong faith, Jeannie was a devoted member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Mackville. Her faith guided her life and gave her strength through every season. She especially cherished her weekly visits with Deacon Jeff, who was truly a blessing to her and the entire family. God sends many angels in times of need.  Father Raju who prayed for our mother during these final moments.

Dementia played a significant role in the final years of Jeannie’s life, bringing challenges that were often difficult to understand and navigate. Through it all, her family came to see that while memories may fade, love does not. Even on the hardest days, there were glimpses of her spirit—her warmth, her humor, her presence—that reminded us she was still with us. Caring for her deepened our patience, strengthened our compassion, and taught us the true meaning of unconditional love. Those years, though difficult, were also filled with quiet moments of connection that will remain in our hearts forever.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, hardworking spirit, unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. Jeannie’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she so lovingly nurtured.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her son, Tim; her parents, George Sr. and Delia Reiland; and other family members who welcomed her into eternal peace.

The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Edward the Confessor Parish of Mackville, N2926 WIS – 47, Appleton. Visitation at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of Mass. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Jeannie will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She can now rest in peace.

Our family is beyond grateful for all the love and support shown during her final days. From the Touchmark Nurses, maintenance, housekeeping, and her special friends (you know who you are)—to the compassionate caregivers who provided such personal and meaningful care, we are forever thankful. A special thank you to the hospice team, including the nurse and CNA, whose small acts of kindness—like blow-drying Mom’s socks to keep her comfortable—did not go unnoticed.
