Obituary

Tamara “Tamie” “Tammy” Boche, age 58, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026 following health complications and was able to fulfill her calling to selflessly help others through organ donation.

Tamie dedicated her life to helping others and believing in the power of healing, growth, and second chances. She worked for many years at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America in a variety of capacities before feeling called to pursue a new purpose in serving those involved in the correctional system. Determined to follow that calling, she returned to school later in life and achieved remarkable academic success. She attended University of Wisconsin–Fox Valley, earning her Associate’s Degree in 2012 while making the Honor Roll multiple times. She then continued at University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, receiving her Bachelor of Social Work in 2015 and earning Dean’s List honors on numerous occasions, as well as the Outstanding Returning Adult Student Award and the Brown-Halloway Social Work Award. Tamie later earned her Master of Social Work degree from University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2018, where she also received the Chancellor’s Graduate Student Award in June 2017.

Tamie began her second career as a social worker in state corrections, serving at Oshkosh Correctional Institution, Drug Abuse Correctional Center, Taycheedah Correctional Institution, and other counseling centers. Her work focused on behavioral health, substance abuse, and trauma-informed care. She possessed exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep compassion for others, and a sincere belief that every person was capable of becoming the best version of themselves. She never stopped learning, always striving to grow personally and professionally so she could better serve those around her.

On June 26, 2021, Tamie married the love of her life, Don Boche, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Tamie loved glamping trips, watching Green Bay Packer games, home remodeling projects, and decorating spaces with warmth and beauty. She especially cherished everything Don built and the life they created together.

Above all else, Tamie treasured her family. Wednesday night dinners at Tonya’s with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dogs brought her immense joy. She loved jumping on the trampoline, making memories, and simply being together. She was also incredibly proud of her 23 years of sobriety and faithful involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups. Through her work with Alateens, she not only helped countless young people, but also met the man who would become her husband.

Tamie will be remembered for her compassionate heart, unwavering faith in others, infectious warmth, and the encouragement she offered to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness, wisdom, and hope.

Tamie is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Tonya (Dustin) Simonsen; grandchildren: Naomi, Eli, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren: Alana and Sophia. She is further survived by her step-son, Jason (Beth) Boche and their son, Noah; as well as by her brother, Jason Trentlage; godson, Justice Trentlage; aunt Darla Berg; two close friends: Penny and Melissa; and by other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, AJ Marquardt; mother, Diane Maier; brother, John Trentlage; and uncle Dennis Maier.
