Obituary
Jeanette “Jan” Erdmann, age 87, of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. She was born on January 24, 1939, to the late Harry and Mabel Boardman and was a graduate of Shawano High School. She moved to Appleton and worked at WAPL.
Jan married Marlin “Butch” Erdmann October 21,1961, and together they built a loving family with their four children. She was a stay at home Mom while her children were growing up, she also cared for many other children at that time. For years she worked at a few bakeries and then worked for over 20 years at Consumer Prescription retiring when she was in her 70’s.
A faithful and active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Jan formed many lasting friendships through her church community. She had a deep love for animals, especially the many dogs and cats she cared for over the years, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Jan enjoyed spending time in her yard watching and feeding the birds and squirrels that gathered there each day and will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to her family and friends, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jan is survived by her children: Tammy (Terry) Filen; Brian Erdmann; and Brad (Heather) Erdmann; grandchildren: Jared Theabo; Jacob (Bailey) Theabo; Tiffany Erdmann; step-grandchildren: Jennifer (Zac) Dombrowski; Chris (Breanna) Gerhardt; and Kayla (Kevin) Casperson; and great-grandchildren: Madi; Olivia; Hallie; Tess; Levi; Natalie; Gabby; and Hunter. Jan is further survived by her sister, Sharon (Jim) Erdmann; in-laws: Karen Boardman; Dawn Boardman; Ruth Wright; Shirley Erdmann; and Gerry Herbst; as well as by many nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Butch; daughter, Gwen Theabo; sisters: Joyce (Eddie) Kersten and Shirley Herbst; brothers: Gordon (Ann) Boardman; Jack Boardman; Dick (Joyce) Boardman; and Jim Boardman; as well as by a daughter-in-law, Jackie Erdmann and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Jan will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S. Park Ave., Neenah. A visitation will be held at church from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
